Nuclear fission is a nuclear reaction in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts, often producing free neutrons and lighter nuclei, which may eventually produce photons (in the form of gamma rays). Fission of heavy elements is an exothermic reaction which can release large...

www.facebook.com ... Physics (Chapter 1): Fission And Fusion. --- Please SUBSCRIBE to Science & Reason: • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com --- Consider the earth and a rocket ship which are bound together by gravity. If it takes work or energy to pull them apart, then the binding energy is the amount of energy it takes to completely separate them. Similarly the binding energy in a nucleus is the amount of energy it takes to completely separate the protons and neutrons, (collectively called nucleons.) There are two forces acting inside the nucleus of atoms. The nuclear force -- a residuum of the strong force that holds quarks together -- is pulling the neutrons and protons together -- and the electric charge on the protons is pushing them apart. The strong force is a lot stronger than the electric force at short ranges up to two and a half times the proton diameter, but at larger distances the electric force dominates. This increase in binding energy continues until we get to iron and nickel where the nucleus has about 60 nucleons in it. At this point, the nucleus has a radius more than two and a half nucleons wide, which you remember is the range at which the repulsive ElectroMagnetic Force begins to dominate.. . So as we add nucleons past this point the electric force trying to tear the nucleus apart starts winning and each added nucleon is a little less-tightly bound. --- The Cassiopeia Project is an effort to make high quality science videos ...

This was an assignment for AP Chemistry class at Horizon Science Academy Cleveland high school ( www.hsas.org ). The students collaborated with the school's video club in order to make the movie. There are only about 300 traps with 600 balls in this video. We plan on going bigger soon. Special Thanks to Tomcat (tomcatbrand.com) for donating the mouse traps and Pingpongballs.net for donating the balls. We couldn't have done this without your support. Several Fingers were harmed in the making of this video. All music is from iMovie '09. Thank you for watching. These free neutrons are absorbed by other heavy elements which creates a chain reaction. --- It's Never too Late to Study www.FreeScienceLectures.com --- Notice This video is copyright by its respectful owners. Google Tech Talks April 16, 2007 ABSTRACT There are many common misconceptions about nuclear power that can be proven to be false, even among people with a variety of opinions. For example, it is often stated that nuclear power plants are very large and cost at least a couple of billion dollars. However, ever since there have been nuclear power plants, there have been some that have been small enough to fit inside submarines. One of those submarines is only 12 feet in diameter and could fit on half of a football field. It has also been said that nuclear power plants must operate at a nearly constant power level, yet they can power both submarines and aircraft carriers through extreme maneuvers....

A classic scene from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for ps2. The game acts as if you've been killed, but the "Mission Failed" is replaced with "Fission Mailed" and you're still playing the game in the small viewing window. Explaining for those who haven't gotten this far. You just entered the virus into Big Shell, which corrupted any electrical device in the structure. With the Skull Suit and fake blood Raiden was sporting, he was getting effected as well, which messed with his perspective of real and fake. The Metal Gears have always been known for their mind-boggling death simulations. Any hardcore fans who have played mgs3 would know with the river scene.
